Have you and your dependents received an annual physical yet? The most common aspects of preventative screenings performed during the annual Wellness Exams are 100% covered by Cardinal's health plan regardless of reaching your annual out of pocket max.
Examples of preventative screenings include:
Annual medical exams and well child care visits
Standard immunizations
Smoking cessation medications
Gynecological exams, and
Cancer screenings
Early detection is very important and almost always means a better chance for prevention of a disease. You gain powerful information, enabling you to have more knowledge regarding your risk. Knowledge is power. With this knowledge you and your doctor can work together to develop an action plan and identify adjustments to risk factors you can control.
Examples of risk factors you can control:
Smoking
Maintaining a healthy weight
Being physically active
Examples of risk factors you cannot control:
Your age
Your heritage
Your family history of disease

Procedure and diagnosis codes submitted by your provider on the claim form determine whether a service is considered preventative. Be sure to notify the scheduler at your preferred clinic that you are needing a "wellness exam" or "annual physical" to ensure that the billing department codes your appointment correctly.
