Team,

As we observe Men’s Health Awareness Month this November, it's a great reminder to reflect on our well-being—both physical and mental. Men's health often goes overlooked, but by taking proactive steps, we can make a big difference in our overall health and quality of life.

Men’s Health Tips:

1.         Schedule Preventative Health Screenings

It’s important to stay on top of regular health screenings, including those for heart health, blood pressure, and age-appropriate cancer screenings. Early detection of potential health issues is key to staying healthy in the long term.

2.         Prioritize Cardiovascular Health

Heart disease is one of the leading health risks for men. Stay active, monitor your cholesterol, and make heart-healthy food choices. Even small lifestyle changes, like walking more or reducing salt intake, can make a significant impact.

3.         Take Care of Your Mental Health

Stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges are common, but they don’t have to be managed alone. Whether you’re dealing with work pressures, personal stress, or emotional concerns, the EAP provides free and confidential counseling to help you find balance.

4.         Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle

Regular physical activity and a balanced diet are essential to maintaining overall health. Try incorporating more whole foods into your diet and aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity most days of the week.

5.         Ensure Adequate Sleep

Getting enough rest is crucial for mental and physical recovery. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night to improve focus, energy, and overall well-being.

Remember, Cardinal Glass employees have ongoing, 24/7 access to TELUS Health's Employee Assistance Program (EAP), providing confidential support to help you navigate challenges related to work, family, health, and more.
