May 2023 Profit Sharing Announcement

Congratulations on another safe month as we get closer to another 100 days without an OSHA Recordable! We are leading the Division and rapidly becoming a great example of how we can enjoy success in both Business and Safety. The results are in for the month of May and your efforts are once again recognized as leaders in the Division – we have secured our 4th straight month at 52% profit sharing with checks to be dated Tuesday, June 20th. May was our highest Sales month this year ending with $6,498,054 and we were able to produce over 1 million square feet (1,118,806) for the first time since November 2022.

Change continues on and improvements have been constant here at AMLG! On the East end of the building, the new grinding line is officially installed and the old line is currently being dismantled – this will free up additional storage space for raw glass and allow for better flow into the gantry at Table 1. The efficiencies and yields off our lines continue to improve and we still have a good portion of 2nd Shift Lami Line held in reserve to add square footage when needed. Our training on the Automated Line continues to go well and more operators are gaining the necessary knowledge so we can produce on more shifts. The Packing Department has picked up a valuable tool in the robot on Packing Washer 4 and we are now racking off large units with only one person – this allows team members to obtain greater skills to float to different areas of the plant.

We all have felt the struggles with getting the large coated Sage units through the Plant. Although May proved to be successful for us, we rejected over $38,000 dollars of this demanding product line as it went through the building. I watch in amazement as we ran them, racked them off, rushed them to bagging, tossed them to a scrap rack, or re-ran back down the line all in an effort to get these units out on time to our Customer. Your sheer determination and grit as we attempted different run recipes off the furnace and lamination lines, different claves, and racking techniques was truly outstanding. This example right here is true team work; every person coming together to battle through, find a solution, and produce a grand victory. Team, you won the month! I once again can watch in amazement as this plan comes together as you all tackle big challenges in taking on some of the most demanding products a laminator can run. Thank you for all you do to keep us headed in the right direction.

We have a busy June underway and are well on our journey to another shot at 52%. Continue to remain vigilant on our yields, take care of each other, be safe, and find time to enjoy the Summer months.
